Hole in crankcase

The JB Weld Worked great! Now it starts and idles fine, but after it is ridden for a while, it will not start. I went to tug hill for the weekend and my wife rode it for 7 miles. We stopped for lunch and it would not start. It would not pull fuel into the cylinder. it seemd to loose compression. After awhile, an hour or so it started, barely. it rode it back to the trailer and parked it. It wouldn, start again. We had spark, but no suction in the carburator. The plug was dry. Rings are bad or my local repair shop did not hone the cylinder or something. I think I will have it bored and rebuild it myself. Any ideas? It pulls over much easier after it has been run. Expanded cylinder - less compression. It only has 90 psi of compression when cold. I haven't check it hot. ?????????????????

Go for the build! You can get more reliability if you do it yourself. But first, look for a reputable machine shop.Or, if possible,a shop that does some kind of racing that way you know that the work they do will be a quality job!I rebuilt my 250 myself but that's what I do for a living. If your piston skirt is damaged you may want to bore it at least .040" over. You see the excess heat seems to weaken the metal and if you don't you may be looking at the same situation not too long down the trail.Oh by the way,I meant .040" from where it is now not overall.Good luck.
