I also got the 2500. It works excellent and the remote switch is a plus. I bought mine at www.atvpartsdepot.com they had the best price I could find.

Just a quick response to your snowplow question. The winch is pretty quick on lifting the plow. The nice thing about it is that your hands are constantly messing with the plow. I lower it all the way and raise it slightly of the ground and go like crazy. Try it once you get the winch on. If you don't like it, remount the manual lift. You won't be out anything.

Your basic question, do I need a winch? It sure comes in handy when you need it. Even if you only use it once a year. If you had been alone and tried and got stuck, 20 + miles back. It might have made the difference of walking back or riding back. Its also very handy to pull out other people
as well. I did not use my winch at all untill I went 4-wheeling with Jaimie. I used it about 8 times in 2 days.

My 2000 lb. warn winch pulled my self out, pulled out a sp500 and a 600 grizz. If you get a ****** block your 2000lb. can be almost a 4000 lb. pulling power. Bring extra rope along...
