Well on most other quads you put your foot on the frame, set your rump on the floor and yank on that axle and it will pop out. I think Polaris is different though. I'm sure someone here will help you out soon enough. Good luck.

Your cv is definitely toast! To remove it you must dismantle the hub assembly, disconnect the A arm from the strut so the strut can be removed off of the cv. The cv has a retaining ring holding it onto the drive shaft and can be removed with a strong tug.
I would recommend replacing the cup seals in the hub assembly when rebuilding.
If you have a high speed internet connection I can send you a couple of pages from my manual.

You will feel ball bearings inside, if its full of dirt and such don't write it off. CV Joints are tougher than you might think, just tear it all down, find the parts that are busted and grease the crap out of the thing but make sure to clean it all really good.

I don't know if your scrambler is the same or not but i had to just yank it out of my sp700 like traildog said. I might take a few good pulls b/c my aunt's boyfriend yanked mine out and he's a pretty big feller.
