Default SP 500 squeeking

Okay I think it's in the front wheels but I'm not for sure. But it squeeks like heck. It's very irritating also. I just thought I'de get ya'lls opinions on what it might be before i go test and tune Sat. Oh and it's an 03 that has hardly been rode...but it's been doing it for awhile now.

You have to feed the mice in the belt housing (also known as the squirrel cage) or they make a hell of a racket. Just kidding, I thought you were talking about a Honda.lol Could it be your brakes? They get a little rust layer if they sit for a few days.

When does it squeak, when turning the handle bars, going straight, fast, slow, bumps?

I have an 03 SP500. After about 20 mins of riding, when I go to take off I hear this high pitch squeel coming from somewhere on my quad. Haven't pinpointed it yet. But indeed it is annoying as h*ll. I thought it might be the belt, but I had Polaris put another one on. Still doing the same thing. At least I think they put it on, I almost feel as if they forgot. Just how they forgot to order my new camo panels that began peeling and a special bolt I had them ordered. Other than that the only bad thing I've noticed is the EBS has started to slip while going down Steep hills. Happy with the quad other than that.

My 99 SP 500 also has a squeek in the front end. Its in the steering for suspension somewhere. With the quad stationary it will squeek if I turn the handle bars or push down on them. I keep everything greased well. I wish I could figure it out.

All atv brakes seem to squeal at times it seems. They do not have the vibration dampers like cars do yet. I put new pads on same thing, greased where brake rides on actuator still did it eventually. I had a squeak in my 02 sp500 when turning handlebars turned out to be the tie rod ends (4). They have rubber boots over them. I pulled the boot back a bit and sprayed aerosol grease in them and all was fine.

It does it at just about anytime the thing is moving. I haven't had a chance in awhile to really get out and pinpoint what it is...but it is definatly comming from the front.

It is most likely the top of the strut. WD40 works for a very short while but is easy to apply. The best fix I have found is to dismantle the top of the strut and using a good quality silicon grease I lubricate the rubber mounts and contact surfaces. This lasts at least one year if done properly.
