Thats what I hear now as I'm riding. Sounds like its coming from the front end but its hard to pin point where. I'm leaning towards the shocks, but as dumb as it sounds its difficult to pin point. With the machine shut off I bounce up and down and no squeek I jack up the machine and spin the wheels nothing turn the front wheels back and forth, no squeek. It doesnt need greasing either. Is it common for the shocks to squeek with age or should I keep digging?

Check the front drive lines and A-arms, see if they are taking grease, if the c-v joints are dry or loose they will squeak, check all the bushings to see if grease come out when you grease them especily the top inboard A-Arms. I have a 96 500 Sportsman that has never had a squeak. Hope this helps.

it might be the rubber mounts at the top of the springs, I use to spray armoral on mine to get rid of the squeak, but then I got use to it.

I had the same problem on my Sportsman where the rack mounts to the frame that bolt had came loose and I only heard the squeek when I was riding it so it was hard to pin point but that is what it ended up being.

Sounds like your brakes are squeeking. Discs seem to have that problem when they get dirt on them. Alot of the Polaris's that we ride with go squeek squeek squeek down the trail. Not a problem just squeeky.

I guess I'll have to give her a bath today for starters. I like the loose front rack theory, because I was laying on the front rack and driving in a field with my head down towards the front end and then it wouldnt squeek. Seems like the extra weight on the rack would stop the squeeking, but at the same time my head was close so the engine I had a hard time hearing anything. Thanks I'll keep you guys posted if I fix it the trouble.

I found the trouble today. It was a tie rod squeeking like a madman. I tightened it up a bit and no more squeek. Thanks for the replies.
