Default 400 Out of Production

I heard somewhere that Polaris isn't going to produce anymore 400 2-strokes. Do you guys know if it's true? If it is then it's a sad day... Well the new SP 400 is actually a 425 4 Stroke, so the only 400 2 stroke in production is the Trail Blazer.

I agree that it is a sad day as well, my dad has a 96 SP400, and it consistantly wins the Mud Boggs and Tractor pulls...will eat a SP 500 any day.

It's true! Sucks doesn't it! I keep hoping Polaris will replace it with something sportier but then they announced to the dealers about there fuel injected couch on wheels so my hopes aren't very high anymore.

Not for 04 -- only the 250 Trailblazer is listed...

That is correct. the 400 2 str is no more.......they only have the scrambler 500 4Str now....the trailblazer will be around for a little while......Polaris....I heard......cut quite a few models out of their production line.....i.e. the scrambler 400 2 stroke, scrambler 400 4 str, and some more.....if you noticed on the 04 scrammy's they do NOT come with a FOX rear shock like the 03's. But the 04's aren't any cheaper than the 03's. did you also notice........the predators........they used to have 4 different pckgs......the desert, trails, bone stock, and the Troy lee........now they have stock and troy lee.......jus some info for ya.....

It is a sad day indeed - I'm sure the discontinuation of the 2 strokes has something to do with California emmissions.

I'm not sure why California is so much smarter than the rest of the world - everywhere you turn around today, there is a sticker or label that says "This product contains xxxxxx, known to the State of California to cause cancer". I keep waiting for the day they put these stickers on a Big Mac or Wopper - maybe they will discontinue them too? - OR just drop the beef and substitute it for Tofu and Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP)? - that would be basically the same thing that Polaris is doing. Do not blame Polaris. They are a business that has to make $$$$. It is simple....the two stroke machines are not selling well enough to be profitable(which is not the case) or the damned LIBERALS have caused so much red tape that it is not worth producing two stroke machines.

Remember this when it is time to vote!

Vote Republican!

Actually, they are still being produced for over-sea markets. I forget the exact site, but if you do a search on Victory you will find 400 2X4, 400 4X4 being sold as new machines in Italy (they are equipped with blinkers and horn for street use). I guess if you have any relatives / friends stationed in Europe you can have them send it back for you.
