Default Pred or Scrammy??

The scrammy is plenty fast, the KFX is a nice quad and all but, they leave a little to be desired in my opinion. Ive never actually ridden what but they oddly enough get smoked in drags. The scrammys 4wd is also nice, its a lot funner than you may think, specially if its in snow. My dad wanted a 700 at one point and test rided one and was surprisingly disappointed, he said he would keep his 500. I like the 500 its a nice snappy quad, but I think its time for me to drop the autos and get me a real sport quad.....

Default Pred or Scrammy??

WIscrambler

I tried to water wheelie through one water hole but since I'm not experienced all it got me was alot more water thrown in my face. So you think people would look at you funny if you put a snorkle on a sport machine? LOL J/K

I hit a deep hole on the way back that had me a bit scared. I lost traction in the middle and just spun so my wife had to drive back in and pull me out. I sure was pushing alot of water before that.

Default Pred or Scrammy??

GO GET THE PREDATOR!!!
dont even try to compare between those 2 atv's
the pred is 1000 times better than the scrambler and it got a manual transmission
pred is a race ready quad
go get the pred!!!
i own a ds-650 and when i tested the pred it feels like a better quad than the ds
but the ds is much more faster than him...

my decision get the pred between those 2 quads but dont limit yourself to this 2 quads
go try the raptor yfz trx450...
than make your final decision

Default Pred or Scrammy??

I was a die hard Honda 250r fan. Talk about a disappointment when I first got my scrambler 400 4x4. But, Ive been modifing it and now it's fun. Also, I had to learn to ride with an auto - my techniques had to change. This is a great trail quad. It is a unique quad, and with the phase out of 2-stroke engines, increasingly rare. I am fortunate I have access to ride a wide variety of ATV's and the Scrambler is now the ride I choose most often.

some of my favorite choices are:

Wheelies - Yamaha, preferably an old school 225dx tri-moto or a 200 moto-4, not a lot of thrill like a 250r slide wheelie, but you could ride a wheelie across the counrty on the Yamahas.

Jumps - hands down nobody jumps like Honda. 250r, 400ex are there best, new 450?

Trails - Polaris makes nice trail quads, but I'm partial to the Scrambler and Trailblazer. Specifically the Scrambler 400 4x4. The only bad thing is they are HEAVY.

Riding with the boys on a track or in the gravel pits - Predator.
20+ mile cross country rides, an afternoon of exploring or breaking new trails - Scrambler 4x4.

If I could only have one quad to ride I would choose the Scambler because of the variety of people I ride with and their varity of ability and experience.

You can mod out a Scrambler 400 cheaper than you think. For under $500 you can get 12HP (approx 40%) increase, plus a handling package. For another $500 gets you the suspension, plus you can split the brake(if you want). Final $500- make it look the way you want it to.

So there you have it for $500 in upgrades the Scrambler becomes a great trail quad, for $1500 in modifications you are leading the pack on a Scrambler.

Oh yeah, it still wont be a predator though.

Default Pred or Scrammy??

Ajo,
your points where good but i like going fast, and do little trailbusting. I also like manual, though ive had little expierence it ads a whole new demension to riding. As for upgrades, I dont really wanna spend some odd grand to make a scrammy something its not= a predator, i love the 4wd and all but all I need it for is snow and i have a sled for that. The biggest thing is handling, the scrammy will never come close in this section due to the mcphersons. I will miss it, but not enough to make much of it. I still have a winter and spring to spend with my 400 though......
