Default help !!coolant leak on 400 explorer

My 400 is leaking coolant out of a tiny hole at the bottom front of the motor, it looks like the bleed hole on a chevy water pump. The fan also stopped working. Is the water pump in there? It dos not look like any part can be removed from the area around the hole. Any help will be appreciated.

You are in deep doo doo.. It sounds like water pump time. Its time consuming and you will need a special socket from Polaris, but its not too bad of job...

The "special" socket can be fabbed from a piece of pipe and a grinder, years ago thats how I did my first one, until I got a milling machine and built a "professional" looking one in my spare time. For all practical purposes, you only need 2 of the lugs. I've been into several that looked like people have used hammers and punches - taking a chance of boogering things up. Just remember the nut is left hand threads and it will come off a whole lot easier.

Make sure you check for slop in the balance shaft - could be the cause of the seal failure.
