I agree, a bond between man & machine. I love this sport! This Holiday weekend is coming up, time to go riding & camping.

These are good times!

Well, It seems My Bike was put on hold for yet another weekend.. Which means I spend all of this week without sleep. ha!
my wife did get her new bike, an is Happy. Its a tough decision, the Bike I want most will require trading my xplorer in to be able to afford it. Im not quite sure what to do yet.
Anyway, thanks for the many Positive responses to this post.
i think one of my fondest (or funniest) riding memories as a kid was being 8 years old, I had a suzuki ds 80, only a week old. I was riding through the fiels, we live on farmland. Our sink drain emptied into the field, into a ditch. thinking i could ride up this ditch, I got badly stuck. Now keep in mind my dad was in the house 300 feet away, but I walked 1/8th of a mile to try and get a neighbor to help me out, because daddy would beat sons hiny if he found out. noone was home, so i came up with the next best thing, I used a hoe to make "slide" marks into the ditch, to make it appear I had "slid" in. Not bad for an 8 year old! when Dad arrives on the scene, My 8 year old mentality left the hoe leaning against the bike that was stuck so bad it was sitting upright. I was right, dad spanks son, son loses bike for the rest of the day for "tearing it up".
so, Now im 29, and in charge of my own kids... hmm have to keep thinking back to my childhood when i see them do somethig stupid. kids usually Run to me, because My wife hasnt had the pleasure of doing all the stupid stuff on bikes at a young age, and therefore does not understand why a 8 year old thinks he can climb a tree on an xr80.. BUT shes learning!
Happy trails!

Yes I might only be 14.But i know exctaly waht U guys are talking about.I started out on a trx70 xr75 then I got up to a yz80 then a trx250x then a lt 80 then a RT100 then to a blaster and now my 250r.When school was in session iI had my binder's cover plastered with stickers from wiseco to vp race fuels and everything in between. When school got out I was home asap getting my chores done a waiting for dad to get home. Now since it is summer and i can't ride without my parents being home.I found a old rding mower fixed it up and I ride it all day.I go back and mow my trails pull trees's out of the way for new trails and even go mudding.I have already went through 2 one I tore the transaxle out of and the other I blew up.Now I am starting a new project a drag bicycle.U are thinking what.Well see first I took the front tire off a riding mower. It was a 2 piece like on the old honda 3 wheelers.I took out the studs that held it togother put longer ones in.Put spacers (washers)in between tire and sprocket.I used a front sproket off a bike for the rear. And then I heated the rear of the frame up bent it out where the tire fit in there and the sprockets lined up.That took a while!!Then I combined many chains to a make one long enough. Then I took a gas tank off a SL70 (for looks) and bolted it on the frame I had to make special mounts.I cut the front off the frame off tonight and I angled it where the headset would make it sit like a chopped harley.without the crnk hiting the ground.I will have pics of this "drag bike" on my site soon. She is butt to pedal. So wether it is a moded out trx250r or a custom built bicycle I don't care as long as I can feel the wind going through my hair!!!

Man, you guys are making me cry here.. haha. My parents recently split up and my mom got me my first ever "real" 2 stroke.. I get the jitters just sitting on my 97 banshee. You can feel the adrenaline just looking at it.. Thinking how fast I need to hit the jump to clear it... how high I can get the front wheels before it tips.. how bad I can beat hondatrx300ex, haha j/k jake.. just remembering last weekend.. I only come over to her house on wednesday, thursday and friday nights, and all day sunday. We all know that you ride harder when someone is riding hard on your butt... to me, that's the greatest feeling in the world.. well.. almost. haha.. coming off a jump, gunning it into the corner and seeing the guy behind you on your bumper.. just makes you forget about everything else.. just the ride.. that's it... just the ride.. hey, is that atv parade in longview the weekend of the 4th? or next week.. I really want to go....

Had to bring this one back, its such a good topic.

Anyhow as i was sitting on my Banshee at the dunes this past weekend at like 2:30 am, with cocktail in hand, I was thinking about this post.
I was the only one left and I was sitting there just listening to nature, kicking back thinking that life does not get any better than this. So totally peaceful, nice weather, full moon shining, lighting the dunes up so much that you did not even need your headlights to run the dunes.
Then I got to thinking about those people who are trying to take out land and sport away. Man, those people dont EVEN know what they are missing. While they sit around whining and crying and schemeing on how to take the land away from us, we get to ride the land and enjoy it fully.
I do truly feel sorry/pity for these fools...

RoostKing...
