I installed a 100W bulb out of a P sled and that works great. Check your alternator output which should be on the spec sheet make sure you have enough. I would suck if your batter died on the trail.

Go to the dealership and ask for a sled bulb.

The Sportsman has different light than the Scram. To be on the safe side take your existing bulb with you to the P dealer and ask for the 100W version out of a sled.

If I'm not mistaken, the 250 has a 150 watt stator, I wouldn't be putting too much more than what's already on there w/o calling Ricky Stator and upgrading to a 250 watt unit.

I believe (this is from memory) the engine consumes 40W of power to run, the rear light (if it has one) takes another 6W, the headlight another 100W. You are dangerously close to running out of power only 4W to spare. If you have electric hand/thumb warmers etc. etc. you're over the top.
