Default MIGHT HAVE SMOKED MY BELT

Was ridin the scrammy today hardcore and got all for wheels against roots and hit the gas and the wheels wouldnt spin. Then I smelt this really odd smell (burning belt?). After that it seemed to want to hang in the lower gears more....but as we rode more it felt like it returned back to normal. Do you think my quad is okay?? Thanks

Yeah it should be ok... You might want to pull the PVT cover and check the belt if its worn in any way take it to the dealer and get a new one since its a 04 it should be free!!

Smoked belts are not free replacements. Check the fine print. If it fails do to faulty materials etc.. they replace it for free. If you feel any kind of thumping from the CVT your wore flat spots in the belt, get a new one. If not your OK.

well I'll take the deal off and check everything out tomorrow before I ride some more....so you're saying I should get a new belt anyway? I'll describe in more detail what happend....there was a large root in front of every tire and I couldn't hit it hard so I just tried to ease over it. Well got it about half- 3/4 of throttle and they wouldnt even spin on the roots....then I let off it and smelled that smell....and backed out and went on. Guess I'll have to see about it 2morrow. I REALLY hope belts dont burn that easily.
