Default 250 TB CYLINDER SPACER

what would this do if you added a spacer plate the the base because at bdc the piston sticks up about between a 1/6 to 1/8 above the bottom of the transfer ports i know i have to deck the cylinder if i do this and some head work but will there be any gains thanks

Well, there could be some problems with a ported motor doing that. One would be that 1/8 inch equals right at 3mm. That's what you would be raising your exhaust port and intake ports. The intakes would not be of much concern, but raising the exhaust that much especially if it's been raised by porting would make it almost useless. It would be extremely doggy and not much fun to ride unless you were at wide open all the time. If the exhaust was not raised at all when the porting was done and you went only about 2mm, then you could be alright. You would be raising the transfers also which wouldnt hurt anything. I guess what I'm saying is that if it were a stock barrel and you added about 2mm to the base, took that much off the head, then lowered the intakes that much, then it would run actually well, possibly real good. Although trial and error is what it's all about sometimes. Good luck,Bubba
