heelclicker on a sportsman 500????
#1
i have done searches on the forum on the heelclicker and everyone seems to love it. 2 questions: Can anyone that can follow directions install this kit without a professional? And, Where is the best place to get a deal on the kit. Thanks, PB500

It’s fairly simple to install. I did the whole thing (including the full shift out clutch modification) in about 3 hours. The only tool I didn’t have on hand was the heavy duty snap ring pliers. You really don’t need to have any special tools. Not even for the secondary clutch but your hands will hurt for a while after you are done. My palm was sore for a few hours after holding everything together with one hand and installing the snap ring with the other. It took about 15 min to get the technique down. I did the whole job by myself and with only standard hand tools. Make sure you have a good metal file, a torque wrench and good set of snap ring pliers.
The Heelclicker site has an option at the top right called “24/7 Tech Support”. Click on that and you can see pictures of what will be required. It’s a step by step guide to getting it done and it did help me some. You don’t need to remove the spider on the 500.

The cheapest place to get the Heelclicker kit is from the ATV Quad Squad home page. I paid less than $160 bucks delivered if I remember correctly.

The best place to get a deal on it is right hear.
125 and its yours
I tried both the HC and the Dalton and decided to go with the Dalton
A clutch puller is the only special tool needed.
The 700's need a spyder tool but that has nothing to do with you
