testing a starter?

Default testing a starter?

is there a way to test the starter while it is off the atv? thanks

Yes, hook the ground wire to the starter housing the other to the input terminal...

I'm not familiar with the Polaris starter but almost every other starter has a hot wire to it and the housing is grounded. So if you use a battery charger and put the red (pos) on the terminal and the black (neg) on the housing it should spin.
My buddys Polaris 400 went thru starters faster than batteries. They r expensive but can be rebuilt a couple times.
