OK, OK... Now that i feel like an @$$, I had to go get my Feb.'04 dirt wheels mag and look at an ad (Aaen Perf. pg. 186). MY MISTAKE! Wouldn't you know it had a picture of four stroke components and the words "500" Scrambler next to it. So why the hell would you make one size a 2 stroke and the big brother a 4 stroke?!
The only reason I keep asking questions about Scrammy parts fitting a Sportsman is I WANT MORE POWER!!!!

OK now you have that straightend out you want more power from the 425 power plant?First off you need to change the clutching, put a hi flow air filter,a pipe or muffler, find an HO cam and carb and maybe a 500 jug and piston.By the time you do this you could have got a 500HO sportsman. I had a 425 and it was a great motor but not a power house all I did was a K&N filter, Polaris white primary spring Aaen blue secondary and a Supertrapp exhaust. And it would hold its own against any of them.

Did you do anything different with the jeting on your 400 when you put the pipe and filter on. I did pick up a White Brothers E-series slip on. I haven't put it on yet. I got it used and it need new packing in it. K&N will be next.

Well jesbilt, if you want more power than your 425 produces, why don't you put in a 500 HO engine? See 'em on eBay now & then cheap. Same cases, just bigger inside. Then your aftermarket add-ons will have something to work with.

Well.... Honestly, My biggest problem is that I am an RPM junky. I love the high revving sound of a well tuned engine. Two stroke of four.
Don't get me wrong I love my 400 . It's been a blast to ride with my buddies and hunt with. I just want a little more power when it comes to the hills. It just doesn't seem to want to rev high enough. It reaches what it thinks is a comfy spot, and that is all she wants to give. It also seems to do this on the flats a tad. It just seems like it should rev a little higher.
