Default Changing Spark Plugs on a SP400

I've done the search, but can't find much detail on changing the plug. Which side do you have to pull to get to it. Any helpful hints? How many hours can you get out of a plug? What brand do you all suggest for replacement? Gap specs would be appreciated as well.

Breezer the easiest way is to remove the side panel on the shifter side. Check your owners manual for the specs of the spark plug.

Thanks for the reply. I did it on Friday and it was a lot easier than I had read about. There is actually quite a bit of room under the gas tank to remove the plug. From adjusting the shift linkage, I am a pro at removing the side panel, but that's another story!

Not to start another story but did you have to adjust it because it was binding when you would get crossed up in ditch or something. A guy I ride with has this problem when we go wheel'n. He will get it crossed up on something and can't get it to go in orout of the gear he is in.

I think that's the best part of being involved with the Polaris board. Not a BUNCH of crap , just a bunch of people working together to get some REAL answers.

Jes-Yes, typically the machine is crossed up or on a hill. Rarely happens on the flats. Usually just takes a second of adjusting the linkage and it's fine. Anyone else have to adjust the linkage often?
