how can i pull the counterbalence???

is this something that i should be doing?? is there alot of specialty tools involved i have the manual and i dont see anymore but im not sure how once i get it out and get it repaired im going to get it back in??

I have never done it with the motor in the frame.With motor ouof the frame and apart you can heat the cases exactly where the manual say's and it will come out.Or you can tap it out from the backside if you have the cases apart.I don't think this will help much,good luck.

I did my 400 and pulled it out with a slide-hammper puller like they use for pulling axles out. When I got the gear/shaft out the inner bearing was still in the case. I took the same tool with a adaptor that commes with the puller that has a small lip on it. Stick it inside and hook it behind the bearing and then stick a large screwdriver in with the puller to hold it lipped in on the bearing and tap it out."Thats my story, and I'm a sticking with it."
