Default to get ported or not to get ported(scrammy 500)

i was thinkin of getting the cylinder ported,i dont kno much more about it than it helps the machines performance,what are the specific advantages of gettin a port job and are there any people u kno who can do a good job at it in south florida,if so how much will it cost me

You can only port the cylinder on 2 strokes. You can port the head on the 4 strokes. Aaen does porting. It aint cheap though. There is a scram 500 motor on Ebay right now that claims to have Trinity porting. I may actually try it myself (just clean up the intake ports and polish the exhaust ports) this spring. Thats is unless Bubba gets into the 4 stroke porting business[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] *hint hint*[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

You could also try Mickey Dunlap of Four Stroke Tech.

ya i here ya there....

i also thought of cleanin up my intake and polishin my exhaust... i found a machine shop around here that said they might be able to do it.. pretty cheap too.

Hozed, if you send me that head I will do it for free. I havent got my hands on a Predator head yet, but was wanting to see one. I know Maine to Arkansas is quite a bit of distance.

sorry for soundin like a jackass when i said "porting the cylinder"i didnt kno it was only 4 the 2strokes,its all part of learing i guess,but anyway i will be on the look out for something that sparks my interest

dammit.. of course you say this after i got it all together!
btw... do you port/polish banshees? my buddy wants his done.
