Default Uni-filter on a Sportsman 500.....Opinions please?

Hi, i was at a local shop today checking out some new quads. they have a few UNI Air-filters in stock for my Sportsman 500 (1997) and im wondering if anyone has a uni-filter on their pre-2000 sportsman 500. (NOT THE "H.O.") its the regular 500 from old-school days. lol.
i noticed that the stock element-style air filter has seen better days, and maybe with this new foam one, i might get a bit more power from it too?

Great filters and easy to service.I run both UNI and K&N and like the UNI better.

What quad do you run the UNI on...do you have one in your 500 scrammy by any chance? how much of a diference did it make?

im not worried about the power. but i want the engine to breath well and keep out as much dirt as possible, i ride in some VERY DUSTY conditions in the summer, so the K&N is pointless for me. i like protection and reliability over performance.

thanks for your input, its apreciated.

I have one on my 400 Sportsman and K&N on the others.I dont think any of them make a big differance other than servicablity unles you pipe and rejet along with it.

If you do some research you will find the uni will give more air-flow and more protection than a K&N. Either way you will probably need to rejet the carb.Plus the uni is alot cheeper.
