Default Vampires..

Anyone have any Vampires (tires) on their ATV? I was wondering how they ride because it doesn't look like the lugs cross over the center. Also, are they as good in the mud as they look?

the vamps are great mud tires providing your have the horsepower to pull them but i would say put on a set of mudlites or dirtdevils. u will be much happier. the vamps are pure mud tires and will ride very rough on trails and will wear quickly and are quite exspensive. scott

Have you ever rode with them on? If not...I'd prefer to hear from someone that has them on their machine.

i own the dirt devils. they ride as smooth as stock if not better and they do well in the mud and snow and do well in anyother type of terrain u go through. and they were cheap . unless u ride mud all the time vamps wouldnt be a good choice. im sure that there is someone on here than can give u some info on the mudlites. scott

I personaly like the Outlaws, they are lighter and as good or better in the mud, but that is just my preference. None of these are good trail tires, they are made for one specific use-DEEP MUD, and they do there job well. A couple things to consider, If you get offset rims (stick out farther) there is a lot more leverage on your handlebars so it wears you out faster, and make sure you have the power and/or gearing to handle them, believe me they rob a LOT of power. I have mine mounted on different rims so I can switch them when I'm not competing or riding in deep mud only.

Personal experience, Vampires are rough riding unless you are in soft soil. Some things I've noticed with the agressive tread tires like the Vamps is that it is easier to get STUCK in soft soil due to the digging, they are hard on wheel bearings and front end parts (add wheel spacers and they tear things up even worse), as well as they wear quick.

You'd be better off with something a little more rounded like the DirtDevils, unless you live in the mud.

I agree they do wear fast but also perform good in the mud
