Default rebuilding bottom end

my wife is really wanting me to get the scrambler fixed so she can go riding with us. does anyone know where i can get my bottom end rebuilt for my scrambler? i really dont want to take it to the dealer!!! and do you know a round a bout figure on how much it costs? i could probably do it myself, but after the whole water pump seal deal i am afraid of screwing it up. thanks

well how much it would cost depends on how much the bottom end is damaged, if the crank is shot then your talking big $, that could have led to a lot more problems, but if it is only the end berings on the crank then i sure you could easly fix that your self very cheap. even a conectring rod job is easly done as long as it hasen't hurt the crank its cheapish to. But if you think it is going to cost you over $1500 I sugest a good used engine.
