I think the medical profession likes to do that "if you didn't have a helmet on, you'de be dead!" thing. Kinda like, "if it was one centimeter to the left, you'de be dead!" or "If you were doing 36 mph instead of 35, you'de be dead!" They tend to be sensationalists in matters that involve non politically correct issues like Guns, ATV's, et al.

 

Hope you get better soon Matt. May be time to think about invsting in a chest protector eh? I wont ride without mine now after a few close calls

 

You know they really should be banned, they are unsafe. There aught to be laws against them.

Glad to here ur ok. I've gotten smacked around by a tree or two myself. No goggles and a branch found its way under my helmet visor while I was climbing a hill. Not as bad as yours, but thought I was going to be blind for a bit. The body heals suprisingly well, its an amazing machine. As all my posts say "Press On"

Dang Bradracer18, What kind of paddles are those in pic's 18 Paddles? Hows it do with those?

 

Yeah they are 18 paddle Paddle Brats. We had them on the 250r, but sold that and I decided to put them on the Pred. They hook up really well, but they take quite a bit of power to spin. They just take some getting used to, especially on the drag strip, but once you figure them out they work for the advantage.

 

Good too hear you are ok Matt! THats a freak thing. This is a good lesson why we should never ride alone.

To answer a question or two- YES I WAS WEARING A CHEST PROTECTOR!!! IT dosen't protect you on the sides!!
The tree slipped up the plastics under the handle bars right into my right side under my arm pit about 6 inches down. IT COULD HAVE BEEN ANYONE OF YOU!!!!
ONE MORE THING, IF I WAS GOING AS FAST AS I ALWAYS DO, I"D BE DEAD!!!!!
