Broken front sprocket..Help
#1
I broke several teeth off the front sprocket of my 98 sport. I have the rear disk brake right in front of the sprocket. How do I change the front sprocket? Do I have to take the rear disk brake off? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Nothing to it - remove the chain, remove the brake caliper (two 1/2" bolts) - remove the brake disc - remove the bearing plate (two 9/16" nuts w/square head bolts on back side) - remove the snap ring in front of the sprocket and slide the sprocket off - reverse putting back together.

I got the snap ring off and now the sprocket won't go past the swing arm bolt! I guess I'm going to have to pull that whole thing off. What a pain! Know any tricks to get it past that point? I guess it woouldn't be any fun if it was easy!
