Default Snatchblocks-please help...

I have the warn 2000 lbs. winch and i have it on my 99 500. it's a great winch, but when the atv gets buried and the mudlites are stuck in claylike mud, the winch just doesn't get it to good. I have seen the ****** block, but how does it work??? i don't undertand it at all. can someone please tell me how it works and what benifits it has, don't want to pay $40 for something not worth having. thanks, PB500

The ****** block is basically a pulley that you feed your winch cable through. It basically doubles the pulling power that your winch has. The more ****** blocks you use at once the more puling power your winch will have.

You will need to attach the snatchblock to your fixed pulling point (tree) typically with a choker strap. Run the cable around the pulley and hook it back onto your quad at a strong attaching point.

When you double the cable it doubles the pulling power of the winch (this doesn't sound right but it is). Since your winch doesn't seem strong enough the snatchblock would be a worth while purchase. Atleast try it and if that doesn't cut it you may need to go to a 3000 lb winch and then double that to 6000 lbs. The only down side with using a ****** block is your overall cable length is divided by 2 to half its original length. HTH
