Ive got a stock 250 trailblazer for my son and want to add a standard clutch kit to it just to wake it up and give it a little more power on the low end. Shold I go with HPD for that? Im not sure if i should get a pipe while im at it though? If so which one? Ive changed the weights and the primary spring on an auto kawasaki so im assuming i wont run into any problems while doing it on a polaris. Ive also
piped and rejetted a kawie too. I just changed the main jets so will i need to do anything more on the 250?
Also the chain has fallen off a couple of times from jumping the 250 and ive heard something about a chain tensioner for it. Will that fix the problem? If so where can i get one?
Thanks

If your not sure when you are going to pipe it try changing the primary spring to a Polaris white or green. They work real good with stock machines. The white has a lower engagment than the green. We have an HPD pipe and clutch kit on my sons Trailblazer and had to go with a Brown HPD spring instead of the red/yellow while the boy gets more used to the power of the 250 and the topend pipe.

I wouldnt mess with the secondary until you have the basic understanding of a CVT tranny. If you do like I said in my earlier reply you will be happy until you put a pipe on.Then clutch it to the pipe. On the chain if it is adjusted right it shouldnt come off but a tensioner is not a bad idea any ways but it sounds to me like the chain is shot.

Is the hpd clutch kit gonna be the best one for the hpd pipe though? Or would you suggest a clutch kit (or even just a spring/weights) for the pipe from somewhere else?
I have a Kfx700 Vforce (auto tranny. belt drive) and i piped it with duals, better snorkel to flow more air, and put a k&n on it. As for the clutch, i put a lighter clutch plate cover so it would rev a little quicker, and installed a primary spring with higher shiftout equavalent to the mods i did. The spring also has higher stall too. I left the stock weights in because i dont need heavier or lighter ones because the spring is almost perfect for my setup.
The cluth plate and weights are from the same company. The spring is from another.
