Default Polaris Insurance?

I have found in my quest for insurance...

1) If your quad is a sport then it will be more
2) If you modify your quad with performance parts
3) Age is a big factor as is driving record.
4) If you add parts worth $1000 or more (winch, etc)

The Trail Boss is only $198 a year and the Sportsman is $346 a year. That is a big difference.

Is the $12 a month for liability only? That seems way too low.

$12 a month for liability sounds about right for both. My KLR-650 was $6 a month when I was with McGraw.

I have the Polaris insurance trough Markel and it is a great company. I totaled my machine and they quickly and fairly paid off.

Default Polaris Insurance?

I had checked around for my 2 SP400's. Called State Farm, Geico (won't insure ATV's), Allstate and Progressive. Just got off the phone with Progressive and they gave me the best rate. Full coverage (100/300/50) liability (including uninsured), comprehensive and $250 deductible. For both bikes it is $268 per year. This was by far the cheapest. However, I am an old fart (42) and live in Maryland which doesn't require insurance. My wife and I are going to Hatfield/McCoy in 3 weeks and wanted to make sure we were covered.

Default Polaris Insurance?

Ironic that this post reminder was in my "IN" box! I JUST got in from meeting my new Progressive Agent. I have finally secured some reasonable insurance for both my new Sportsman. The cost, $382/yr for BOTH, was a HUGE amount cheaper than what I was quoted....oddly enough, even from Progressive's Online Quote as well as a their quote by phone. For some reason it's cheaper to go through an independent agent with Progressive so Bytor, call an independent guy in your area that carries Progressive and you might save some serious cash! The phone quote that I had received from them was nearly $1000/yr for ONE machine!!! The only coverage that I declined was Medical as we are covered elsewhere.

I'm happy now!

Default Polaris Insurance?

I just bought insurance today on my new 2004 AC 500I. For 100,000/300,000 it cost me $120 a year for full coverage, and I thought that was high.

Treedoc: The $268 per year that I was quoted is also for both ATV's. When I used the online quote, it was $400/year for both. Haven't called a local agent, just thought the 268 was a pretty good deal compared to other insurance companies. Maybe I'll give one a local guy a call and see what they offer.
