Default helmets

Well, there were times that I didn't wear a helment because my friends didn't and I didn't want to be different. But I finally realized that I should wear a helment and started wearing it every time I went riding. Well, as most of you know I had a wreck back in Sept. that almost killed me because of stomach injuries, but had I not had a helment on, I would definately not be here today. From all indications, because I can't remember what happened, I hit a pine tree going at a very high rate of speed which I think was attributed to a hung throttle. My helment broke around the mouthpiece, 5 different places to be exact, it came up, the strap almost tearing my nose off, and back down. The helment was full of blood were I was unconcious for 2 hours because of the concussion I suffered even with the helment on. Well, I also now have 2 Titanium plates and 14 screws in my face and head. My sinuses were completely destroyed and had to be rebuilt, my nose was broken in several places, my skull was fractured and due to the damage I had spinal fluid leakage occuring. Well, I had all of this fixed in 1 surgery. Had I not had a helment on, there is no doubt I would have died. I won't say wear a helment to anyone, I can show the scars that wearing a helment saved my life. Anyway, if you haven't seen the pictures, click my little camera and take a look. If you value your life, if you would like to see your kids or grandkids grow old, If you would like to live to an old age, wear your helment, full face. Oh yeh, I was not an aggressive driver doing anything stupid, it was a mechanical malfunction that can happen to anyone at ANY time.

Usually on the sport quad, almost never on the ute, always when racing or on a ride in a public area (cuz I have to).

One of our family friends was pulling his bout out of the water (couldnt get back to the access with a truck) and when he was pulling it out the front end came up and over...he has a metal tool box on the front of it, well that hit his forhead and he was not wearing a helmet...He was lucky because he is still around, and he now never rides without one

twice now a helmet has saved my life!! Once on a street bike, slid down the freeway on my face doing 70!! The other on my Scrambler, went off a 15 foot razorback and slammed my head into the light cage and handlebars! Don't know if the second would have killed me but it would have done way more than the 2 black eyes and slight concussion I did have.
My son never rides without his helmet chest protector and neck roll

I am pretty new to ATV's but we always wear one. My two year old daughter even likes to walk around the house with it on! Geez!
