leak on 04 sportsman 500 purple fluid help

Default leak on 04 sportsman 500 purple fluid help

there is purple fluid looks purple on the paper towel dripping from somewhere on the frame and i can't see where it is comeing from can anybody help Thanks , mhogdog

The only purple oil I know of is the trasmission oil.

Default leak on 04 sportsman 500 purple fluid help

i just had it in for the 20 hour service i checked the tranny fluid none but i can't find where the leak is i quess i will take it back to the dealer Has any body else had this problem i would like to here there story Thanks

there is also a brand of synthetic oil that is called Royal Purple,and it is purple, they make motor oil, transmission oil.., ect. royalpurple.com

Default leak on 04 sportsman 500 purple fluid help

Sound like tranny fluid to me. Since it was just serviced could they have just put in a tad too much and it's dripping out of the vent tube? Has the temp changed in your area so that the fluid may have expanded in the tranny to push it out the vent? Can you tell if it is leaking out of one of the seals?

bought some tranny fluid today . it was coming out as fast as it was going in coming out were the shaft is i guess some kind of seal.

Default leak on 04 sportsman 500 purple fluid help

Which side? Could the have forgotten to put the drain plug back in? Mine on my scrammy exits sideways at the bottom. I can't see it unless I remove the skidplate.
