The SP700 springs will fit. I've got Ranger springs in the front of my '03 500SP. So far, I really like them. Definitely a fair bit stiffer than stock, so they're a little rougher riding, but not uncomfortable. My machine doesn't bottom out anymore and handles much better. It was worth sacrificing a tiny bit of ride quality, IMHO.

here's some info I found when looking for front springs for my ATP

Polaris Atv springs

Spring colors, last 3 digits on part number  067=black, 385=silver, 293=red, 195=???

Stock sportsman 500/ATP springs 7041375-067 / 7041375-035 64-113 LB/in progressive

Sportsman 500/ATP HD replacement springs 7041450-067 101 LB/in non progressive

Scrambler 500 HD replacement springs 7041647-067  80-120 LB/in progressive

Sportsman 700 stock springs 7042054-067  70-120 LB/in progressive

2002 ranger front springs 7041696-195  140-190 LB/in progressive

2003 ranger front springs 7041985-067  120-150 LB/in progressive

Sportman 500 rear HD replacement springs  140 LB/in non progressive

I went with the Scrambler 500 springs (80-120 progressive) I love em ......I have the brushguard, warn2.5i winch, and the glacier v-plow up front

when I first got the quad stock with no acessories installed yet it would bottom out when going about 30mph down a rough trail, now I can run down the same trail with the plow and ecerything on with no bottoming and the ride is still good

handling is better too ....... I was gonna go with ranger springs, but after I found out the spring rates I felt they may be a bit rough riding

I believe the -195 colour code is green. That's what colour the Ranger springs are in my Sportsman. So far, I'm happy with these springs and after only four rides, they've definitely softened up a little. They also lifted the front enough (approx. 2") so that my quad sits level now. Looks much better.
