scrambler clutch

Check the distance from the center of the primary clutch to the center of the secondary clutch. It should be 10". If not, then your clutched are probably out of alignment. This may be due to faulty or loose motor mounts or tranny mounts

What do you mean you can't tighten it!! To tighten your belt you need to remove shims in the secondary that space the helix less shims tighter belt, but be carefull you must always have one shim. Also belts really do not last that long, unless you get an aftermarket. Hope this helps

Been runnin' the same belt for 4years. Only changed it because I was putting in new spring and figured, hey I'm here anyway.

I don't think removing a shim in the secondary unless somebody has added some will take up that much deflection, something doesn' t seem right. I'd definately check to make sure I got the right belt. I would then check the clutch alignment and go from there. The belt should stick about 1/8 in out of the secondary clutch

im sorry if somethig does not sound right POLARISFREAK, but I guess i could call Polaris and tell them that there owners manual is wrong and you are right. The stock secondary comes with three shims, and yes if you add a clutch kit from HPD you will add shims every clutch is different, there is know way that moter or tranny could have shifted unless something like a motor mount or tranny mount was broken. If one of them was removed I could see it but other than that, Mine have been in the same place for years and I ride hard, so feel free to contanct POLARIS INDUSTRIES and let them know they have a missprint.
