Default Lowering Sport for drag racing

I know this topic has a few posts but not any of the answers I am looking for.I want to lower mt Sport for drag racing but I do want some kind of spring/suspension.I have hweard of peaple taking out there front springs but it is rigid and I dont want that.Has anyone changed the front springs? Will a spring out of an older sprotsman work in the front? If it will I can buy some and cut themI can cut my factroy springs because thet are a different diameter where they need to be cut and wont fit over the strut tower.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I've tooken out the front springs on my trailblazer before and it works fine as long as you leave the stops in there. If you would like i will take some pics tomorrow and send them to you or something.

Use the front springs from a trailblazer 250(they are shorter).Put some limiter straps to hold the shocks so that they are slightly compressing the springs.

I used a spring kit I got from Hotseat.I happened upon this one day.I wanted to lower it without cutting and moving mounts.I had these laying around,so I tried them and it worked great. The front was low enough that the a-arms were parallel with the ground.I used a shock off my old 99 500 for the rear.It too made the swingarm nearly parallel to the ground. What a difference lowering made.I could leave harder than before without fear of it coming over on me.Now I can ride it out if need be.My bike is an '02 so I know the shock mount for the rear is in a diff spot on the 98 and earlier.Mine came with a 10.5" rear so when I put on the 8.5" it was just right.

I lowered mine also.I cut the strut suppoert at the top ,moved it up about 3 inches and then rewelded it.For the back i built a plus 8 swingarm and moved the shock mount on the swingarm back 3 inches. This still gives me full suspension.I have some pic's also send me your e-mail.

I put my front springs in the press and warmed them up with a torch. Worked good just go slow and take your time. Also welded some brackets onto my existing rear shock mount on the swing arm, back about 2.5". Just move the bolt for different riding senerios.

Will lowering my quad help me get more traction? Im running a +5 swingarm, and I beleve out of 30 races, Ive only had to let off- about 4 times, due to wheelie. I weigh 163 lbs and Im running 22-11 Holeshots xcr's I thot about doing away with the front springs and using a real soft rear spring that I found in a junkyard. Please help. I know nothing about this.
