Has anyone tried a comet clutch on a 500 ho? , if so how is it ? good, bad or not worth the money and time.
Anybody have the clutch on a 400 scrambler? is this 103phq clutch a scam or worth the investment.

I have one on my 99 scrammy 500 4x4. It came with the a-1 arms (48.5 grams) and the black spring (50 lbs at 2 1/8" and 198 lbs at 1 1/8"). Shift out was way too high for me. It was like a high stall converter and was terrible for trail riding. My guess on rpm was about 2500. I switched to the a-54 arms (54.0 grams) and the shift out was better maybe 2000 to 2200 rpm but still too high. Then I went with the pink spring (45lbs at 2 1/8" and 142 at 1 1/8") and shift out was more like stock with maybe 5-700 rpm higher engagement. I thought I might try a stock spring and see what happens. As it is now I can race my buddies 2003 400 4x4 scrammy and from a dead start we stay together for about 1-200 feet then he starts to pull away. I havent looked for a wider belt or tried to machine the sheaves to take advantage of the larger diameter and higher speed that would follow. I bought it because it was cheaper than a stock replacement.
