how much different does the secondary clutch work if you run the spring in the 3-1 or 3-2 position? I currently am running in the 2-2 position but was wondering what it would be like if I where to swith it. Any help? And its on a 400 scrammy if that helps

It will effect the back shift alot and add or reduce belt effetency.Depending on the spring 2-2 is excelant for trails but 1-1 my give you a little more topend.

The HPD violet secondary spring set on the 2-2 posistion is very good on the trails, like ftwflh mentioned

If you have an older Scrambler I like the Aaen blue for trails.

2-2 or 1-1 is best for about 99.5% of all situations. The 2-2 is preferred if you do a lot of technical slow riding or hill climbing. Other than that, I like the 1-1.

A tighter setting will give you more bottom but less top. Just the opposite does the reverse. What kills everything is when you get it too much one way or the other. Too tight or too loose makes the clutch lose it's effeciency and that makes you lose power. Maybe not a lot, but it needs to be right.

Which is best for the dunes? I have a hotseat pipe and clutch.

I would say if you like to run dune hills and what-not, then go with the 2-2 setting. That will let the clutch backshift better and do better in the sand.
