I have removed my floorboards, starter, battery, battery box, tool kit container, sprocket guard, chain guard, skidplate, headlights, oil injection, airbox all this along with saving weight with a lighter pipe, tires, and handlebars and the weight saved from removing all the bolts as well came out to about 70 pounds less.

If you remove the battery you'll need a voltage regulator or it'll blow all the light bulbs. Don't know what the reverse weighs, but on my sled it was only about 5lbs more. It's just a couple gears in the chaincase. Well worth the little weight for the big convenience.

I have removed every thing that can possibly go. Now I think im going to remove the front brakes and tap the rear into the handle bar control. (kinda dangerous but..) Im also looking into replacing some of the strait frame rails with chrome molly. what I really wud like to do is loose the tranny and run a jackshaft, but thats really gonna take some head scratchin'..... Ya ever feel how heavy that gas tank is? I thot about using the oil tank for the gas tank, but it only holds 2 quarts.

what about welding up your own gas tank out of sheet metal. make it lower and smaller so that it has a lower CG and its lighter.

Well I would look into aftermarket rims and wheels..you can shed some pounds there...as for the battery and starter and everything...you'll shed probably around 12 to 17 pounds. as for the nerfs...on my 500 I thought about that but I would have to cut into the frame and all that so for me it would be a waste just to save 5 pounds..but I guess every little bit counts...as for the a-arms..ya you can get lighter..but your going to be forking up some money. The gas tank is a good point.. Here is an idea...look at some dirtbike tanks...I have a dirtbike and I know I could rig my dirtbike tank to fit on my scrammy 500...have to do a little thinking and rigging but I could make it work..that would shed some pounds..but as I read this post I see all these mods you guys have did and I think of the money and time you put in to make the 400 weight upper 300's,,,I would just invest in the new 450 class of quads that weight stock around 350...But I guess you would have a sweet scrammy 400! I just know that polaris in general needs to go on a weight diet..

I talked to a guy on the Bad boys forum, that said he had a friend that built a chrome molly frame and did away with the tranny. He said it weighed 225 lbs. Now thats a diet!
