#1
im in the process of rebuilding my top end and would like to know everything that i need. i know that i need a full piston kit(im getting a wiseco), gaskets, spark plug. im plannin on have it ported by bubba while its off. im thinkin about havin the head milled or maybe just cleaning it up im not sure. i dont really wanna run higher octane. does anyone know what dennis charges for just porting on a 250 tb. thanks, scott
if i forgot anything or if anyone has a tip they would like to throw in please do, i would like all the help i can get to ease this up.

With all the mods you're doing I don't think a stock clutch would be good. I would think you would want to match it to the exhaust system to get the most response out of it. Don't know if you already had the oil injector blocked off, but that might be a good idea too.

The best thing you can get for rebuilding the top end is a manual...then you can have step by step instructions...as for not wanting to run higher octane...If you get a higher ratio piston I would run stronger on octane. And like scooter said..if your going to do all of those mods then a little more aggressive clutch kit would be a lot better then stock...

i know about the cluthing but i read in another post that rick ritter said that putting stock springs back in was a good idea for breaking in motors because it will put less strain on the motor.
