street legal quad in Long Island, New York?

 

Oregon as well as most other states does not allow conversion of "For Off-road Use Only" vehicles for street use. Federal law from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission requires that every ATV manufactured carries warning labels and statements in the owners manual prohibiting use on streets and highways. These label are required by a 1988 Federal Consent Decree with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. ATVs are not to be used on roads because of the danger to rider from possible interaction with other vehicles.

Oregon will not register and issue a license plate for an ATV no matter how much additional equipment is added to the "Off-road only" vehicle

Montana you can license them for on road use..I take mine to town all the time. I used to ride it back anf forth to work..Its getting to be quite the popular thing. I see probably 10 a day riding all over billings...
