metal particles in first oil change
#4
Lot's of close tolerance parts flying around inside a 4 stroke. Take your time and break 'em in easy, they'll pay you back with a lot of fun riding time.

What did the metal look like? Did it look like super fine glitter? Could you feel it if you rubbed it between your fingers? Was it tiny chips? Curls? All three? Was it magnetic? How dark was the oil when you changed it?

It was only on the first oil change on my previous quad, and I did not try to figure out if it was Al or Fe. I was pleasantly surprised that the American designed and built Liberty engine on the 700 seemed to have better quality control.
On another note, my dealer does not seem to have '04.5 parts lists yet. He sold me the wrong oil filter the first time around.
