tie rod ends - scrambler 500
#1
Hi everyone,
I need new inner and outter tie rod ends for 2000 Scrambler 500 4x4 (Sloppy steering). I have the "newer" style ends with the through bolt. I live in Ontario Canada and my dealer wants $35.99 per end. My question is, does anyone know of a Canadian supplier that will have what I would require? I am not very techinical (computer geek by trade) but do have a Polaris service manual. I will also replace the steering post bushing at the same time (I think I will bite the bullet and order that from HPD)
Any info, hints, suggestions welcome
Thanks again!
Jim.

Are you possitive that it is your tie rod ends first of all? I had that very same "sloppy" steering and it was only my steering post bearing. Take a look at it, you will notice the rivits wiggleing. I replaced mine with the HPD unit and no more sloppy steering. I would recommend replacing that before you replace your tie rod ends, unless you are sure that they are bad. And for that, give EPI a try

Thanks BBS.
I will have a closer look before I go replacing the tie rod ends. Thanks for the like to EPI, they are however a US company and that is what I was trying to avoid.
Off to order a steering post bearing.
