Default Is there a Scrambler 90 air filter upgrade?

Is there an upgrade for that air filter? Has anyone swapped something else on like a small KnN? I can't imagine that stock sponge does a good job keeping the crud out.

Thanks.

Here's the boy working the '90 Scrambler at Coral Pink Sand Dunes, UT.

I imagine some have clamped on some K&N filters but the stock foam does do a fairly good job but just a little troublesome having to take the air box apart to get to it. OPT

Welcome to the forum! I've got marine Stabil (blue not the red ) in my old Honda and will swear by it! Bottle says one ounce to 5 gallons fuel, but you can double dose for protection up to a year or more. Other friends have had good luck with Star Tron treatment, plus I'm sure others have had good luck with other brands, but just my Also try blocking the air tube with your thumb on your first start of the day. Allows the little ones to get more fuel and once they start, restarts are usually normal. Plus if it's been sitting, might be time to clean the carb. OPT

I actually purchased a new carb for it. I puchased it new in 2002 for my oldest daughter who is now 18 and never rode it. It was sittin in my garage for at least 6 years and still has the little "****" on the tires. My youngest who is now 11 had begged me to get it running.

I've tried the trick you wrote last night and OT finally started. This morning I went out to see I it would start and put my thumb over the inlet and it didn't start. Needless to say Anna was pretty disappointed, it was too late by the time I got it started last night for her to ride it
