need help getting c clips on!!

Default need help getting c clips on!!

could someone tell me how to get the c clips onto the piston??? just got the cylinder and new piston back tonite right when i was finishing putting the nerfs on, perfect timing!! im pumped to get it back together and get some pics up of its new look!! also how can i prevent mice from making nests in my cvt intake?!?!

Very carefully. Actually, a couple of very small regular screwdrivers, or pics work pretty good. Just take your time. Do it on a concrete floor in case one launches on you (don't do it in the grass!).

so just use a pick and work it into the groove basically??

Default need help getting c clips on!!

Little screw drivers work well. Start at one end and work the clip around to the other end. Make sure the crankcase is covered to keep dirt out and any other objects.

Mice...Put a piece of screen over the intake and exhaust openings...this will work to keep the mouse out!!!

Great point Whuggs! Forgot to mention that. Just remember to remove whatever you placed in there for protection. Also, once the engine has been warmed up good for the first time....make sure to go back and re-torque those base bolts. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I have always used papertowls on automotive engines and mc engines to clean and cover areas, cause it wont hurt anything if a bit gets left behind.

Default need help getting c clips on!!

I use one small screwdriver, start one end of the clip into the groove, hold with a finger and work it in with the screwdriver, make sure the gap in the circlip is located at either the 12 or 6 0 clock position so high rpm inertia won't dislodge it and wreak havoc with your cylinder and piston (among other things lol).
