Default Wiring for halogen lights

Picked up a pair of halogen lights at a garage sale this weekend. Made sure they were 55 watts. Has anybody wired theirs directly into the switch on the handlebars? If so, how did you go about doing this. I've thought about cutting into the wires by the headlight pod, and just have them come on when I switch on the high beams. BTW they are going on the Trail Boss. Thanks!

I'm interested too. Are there any halogen kits out there for the headlights. I have a predator 500 and have been thinking about doing this manually or with a kit.

I have mine wired to the switch. The lights had no high/low beam. Just a power and ground. So, what I did was cut of the existing connector that was on the headlight wiring for my old lights. I found what wire was ground, what wire was for the high beam, and what wire was for the low beam. I soldered the high and low beam wired together so that the lights would be on no matter the position of the switch. Then used some connectors (so I could disconnect the wiring) and connected the high/low beam wire to power and ground to ground. If I remember correctly, the grounf for the stock wiring was actually a brown wire. The other 2 were orange and green I think?

That's kind of what I was looking to do, since I have Hi/Lo beam. Time to break out the manual and check the wiring diagrams. DK, as far as a kit, this was just a pair of lights still in the original package (wiring and all). They wanted 11 dollars, asked him if he'd take 10 and got new lights. Not sure if you're talking about upgrading existing light or adding more. There are plenty of different brands and styles, mine are just the plain rectangular. Couldn't pass up the price. Thanks BigBad!

Does anyone know if the wiring set up the Sportsman uses to light all three lights can be done with the Boss. With that I wouldn't have to cut any wires.
