What ever he does, he'll be robbing paul to pay peter, maybe a slightly heavier spring in the secondary.

I think he should get a bigger quad.

I think you should try to keep up with a 400L sportsman on your 600 you will be eating dust or mud! I have a set up on my 400 that works good for my pipe and aggressive tire.Try a Blue Aaen secondary with a white Polaris primary. Then if he aint happt go to a set of 10-58 shift weights.

Excuse me ftwflh, your saying a 400 sportsman is faster than a 600 sportsman???? I have a 99' 400 xplorer, although its no slouch, my 600 is just as fast and better in mud (although not near as good a hill climber). The 400's stock and the 600 has a heelclicker (and good ol' rawhides).
I think the old 400's are more equivlent to the 500 HO

You pipe, clutch and port a 400 and it will leave a 600 in the dust I know I have hung with the 650 Prarries even had to pass them in the mud to ullem out. There is unbelivable power to be released from the 400 with very little expense.

I agree, I've seen estmates of better than 60 hp from a 400 two stroke. but a stock 600 will chew up and spit out a stock 400 every time. a 600 is a much better machine in mud than ANY stock 400 it's equiped from the factory to ford deeper water, and comes with better tire's.
No question if you throw some money at a 400 and mod the engine, get better tire's, gorilla axels' for the front to handle the extra power etc. you'll walk all over a stock 600....

I think any polaris will pass a kawi in a mud hole

For some reason Polaris detunes all the clutches to make them user friendly.I would rather see them tuned to thier potental and blow all the other makes away.

You would think with unlimited resources they would be able to do a better job designing a factory clutch. I know there's diffrent riding styles, there's no question they could do better.
It looks like we made a big circle and we're on the same page after all
