Instrument cluster goes blank

Instrument cluster goes blank
My Father in law has 2 Polaris ATV 500 and both of them has the same problem going on and it started at the same time.
The instrument cluster or maybe the better word will be the speedo goes blank at about 5 mph.
As we're idling it will come on and be just fine but at about 3 or 5 mph the darn thing goes blank.
Since the all wheel drive is connected with the speedo and or electrical, it doesn't go in either.
Neither one has been abused or drenched in a river or anything like that at all, just nice easy riding.
so I guess what I'm asking, has anyone experinced these same issues?
The ATV's are both 2003.
Thanks for your help.

Actually at the time I had posted that we had not even looked at it. We had just found the problem that day. We have them out in the shop right now and we're gonna be looking.
We talked about it and believe it may be just a known issue with this make and model since both of them have the same problem at the same time.
Probably just a loose connection at the cluster or something.
We also kind of figured that we must not be the only people having this. In fact I did read about someone having the same thing.
He never posted back about what he ever found out tho.
Be assured that as soon as we find the problem I'll put it in here so other can see the fix in case they run into the same thing.
