I was wonderiing if anyone has experimented with installing a recoil on the 600's ,or if there is a after market recoil for the bikes.I love my bike but I have allway's been nervous with getting stuck in the bush with a bad starter. thanks

 

you can retrofit a pullstart from a polaris smowmobile.

Or you could even more easily buy the one that is used on the Military version of the SP 700 (MV 700)

 

I can say that you can fit a recoil on a 600 but you better be one BIG mother F er to pull it. Thier is so much compression on a 600 and 700 that it is nearly impossable to pull and the recoil would probably pull your fingers off. Thier is a reason why Polaris didnt put one on and thats why. Most 4 strokes that have a recoil have a compression release valve so it is alot easier to pull. The 600 and 700 do not.

I was at my dealer today to pick up some parts and I asked them about the recoil on the mv700 that comes out soon.He told me that they had worked a few from a local base and that they were waiting to see which parts were needed to be able to add the recoil to the 600/700 that would now be available.Even if its tough to pull its better than nothing when your stuck!
