one wheel drive??
#1
This past evening I took my Polaris 500 out for a ride on the street in front of my house as I do not happen to have a convenient acre or to to cruise on. Anyhow, twice when starting out in Hi, two wheel drive the unit felt as if it was pulling to the right really hard. Once in reverse as well. Tire pressure was even although it felt as if I had a flat tire so extreme was the pull. I just bought the quad, havnt even hadd the thing in the woods yet. I bought it used with a little over a 100 miles on it. Three days ago I put a lft kit on just the front and made sure that my struts bottomed out in each one of the strut housings. The problem disappeared after ptting the unit in reverse and then foward again, same when it was in reverse (put it in forward and then reverse) Any one out there had a similar probelm? Thanks, hdnvn

As usual, i have no idea wha i'm talking about, but:
I think that problem is when one front hub engages, making the quad turn sharply in one direction. When you change directions, the caught hub releases. But I don't know why yours would do it in 2wd, you'd hafta get someone with a brain to answer that one lol.

whatever side the bike is pulling to is the side that has the problem in the hub. my cure the issue by changing the oil, but most likerly the hilliard lock washer is enguaging the hub on its own, i would like more details to help u out more

I'm not really sure whether its a drive train issue or a sticking brake issue. it was pulling in two wheel drive and the pulling was definitely in the steering, not the rear end. Eve had a brake stick on these things? Hdnvn

try changing your front hub fluid. If if feels like one of your front wheels is engaging, which could feel like the brake on one side is engaged, change your front hub fluid, and the problem will MOST LIKELY be fixed.
