ATP Gas Tank
#1
Does anyone know how far a fully loaded ATP will travel on a full tank?
I'm in the market for one but with the small tank, I may just stay with the Sportsman.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Also, has anyone heard if Polaris will update the front end or engine of the ATP anytime soon and bring it up to date? Maybe even add a twin with efi to the line up. With the extra weight, I'm sure it could use the hp.

I don't have any idea how far it will go on one tank of gas, but I agree with you that it's stupid to put such a small gas tank on the atp. It only holds 3.25 galllons! It should at least hold 5 - 6 gallons. It weighs over 700lbs and has lower gearing than the sp500 and magnum 300. Who came up with the ingenius idea of putting a very small gas tank on it?

It definitely has a nitch, ranchers, farmers, people doing landscaping etc. That is the reason for the large axle and rear diff. The rear diff allows you to switch to turf mode and turn much sharper. If you compare the design of the ATP to the Artic Cat version, it's way much better looking. It can be a trail machine, but not as ideal as a sportsman. If you've ever taken one apart you'll know why the fuel tank is so small, there's no room to put a bigger one! The engine comes up through the bottom and the machine is already long enough. So, just one of those things you have to live w/ i guess. Overall it's a solid machine though, never hear of many problems w/ them.
As for more power the 330 maybe a little underpowered, but the 500 is plenty. If the 500 can push a Ranger, it has no problem with the ATP

I know for a fact that a sportsman can really tear up the grass so having that turf mode would be a nice thing if you were planning on using it. If it were me and I wanted an ATP i would invest in a couple of stackable flat packs for the front rack. Or get a sportsman and put a kolpin dump bed on it.

Syclone, i think EFI would be a VERY nice added touch to an ATP. great idea!
i like the ATP but i like to ride double. it's a little tight for 2.
nice rear diff design.
