Why should I buy a polaris part two!

Yes there is a sequal!
As most of you know I posted earlier asking whether I should buy polaris because of me not knowing their reliability and durability.
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR RESPONSES!
NEW QUESTION!
My cousins have owned mainly Hondas for the last four decades. They also own Polaris atvs. When I mentioned to them that I was considering the scram 500 they replied with "Don't do it!" This took me by surprise because of all of the great information and assurance that you guys gave me.
Their reasoning was because they have gone through 4 polaris atvs in the time they are on still one Honda.
Their atv use around the farm is, you guessed it mainly gettin' around, but they also hit the trails and run them hard for fun as well.
So, my question to you is hey, should I heed their .02 and maybe rethink the polaris decision?
I know I can count on you to give me some great input for making my decision.
Thanks guys!

Well Ill tell you right now, we had a polaris for 11 years (Trailboss 250) And we never had any problems with it, with regular maitnence polaris's can live forever. We have had a scrammy 500 for 2 years now with no problems, In fact it ran without oil for almost half an hour and all we had to do is buy 190 bucks worth of parts to get it running like new again, and it wasnt even the quads fault that it didnt have oil. Scrammys wouldnt be able to stand up to MX but normal riding, and hard riding, you wont have any problems. I recommend a 4wd scrammy- that 4wd will get you places the utilities will go, and its faster as well. I dont know what kind of hondas they own but my buddy has a 400EX and has had nothing but problems, it is however highly modified. If it where me id go with the scrambler, because they are fun quick and reliable, plus the new seats are really comfortable

Lowend save yourself some time, just take whatever your cousins are saying and run with it. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

I had a 99 Polaris Sport for two years. I rode it pretty hard. Never had a problem with it except for a couple tie rod ends.
My buddy has a 2000 Scrambler. He's had nothing but problems with it. As a matter of fact, it's been sitting in his garage for over a month with all of its fluids drained all over his garage floor.
What made the difference? I was meticulous with my quad. Ride it, rag it, clean it, lube it, tighten any loose parts, go over it, pat it on the butt and put it away until next time. My buddy rides his, rags it, rags it some more, rolls it, lets anyone and everyone rag it some more, then puts it away dripping with mud.
It's true that Polaris machines need a little more TLC than other machines to extend their life. Every manufacturer lets a lemon slide through their fingers once in a while.

Thanks for the responses guys!
Jayblazer, Good point! why did they keep buying their polaris atvs? I think they really liked them and wanted to give them that "one more chance" and got burnt out after the fourth. Whatever, that is their issue...
My cousins do tend to work their atv's very hard and I have noticed that maintenance is not the highest on their "to do " list. Again this is their problem.
So once again, THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR RESPONSES!
Sounds like if you treat your atv nice it will treat your wallet nice as well.
For anyone that was interested they have HONDA FOREMANS (all types).
Thanks again!
