Rear master cylinder problem
#1
Well, I thought that grease on the back rotor was a problem and needing to bleed the brakes was a suspected problem as well. I disassembled all the lines, emptied the fluid reservoir and removed the master cylinder. I blew out everything with compressed air, reassembled it, refilled the reservoir with fluid and bled the lines but still no pressure. Is it common for the cylinder to go bad from mud and grit migrating into the piston but not letting fluid leak out? The master cylinder doesn't seem to generate pressure and a new one is $80! Is there something I am missing about this whole mess? I have replaced brakes dozzens of times and never encountered this problem.

I am going to take your word for it and try again tomorrow. My had got sore from pumping the pedal so I quit and wrote the question here. I have filled the reservior up three times and am now getting the clear new fluid up at the bleeder screw. I am not one to give up easily but hell, how much air can be in a 24" hose? I never seen a vacuum bleeder before so you'll have to enlighten me on that one.

vacume bleeder pulls the oil out through the pleed valve, instead of forcing it through with the master. it sometimes helps the master reseat whatever is not sealing. Buuuuuttttttttt it does sound like u have a master problem. Check ebay, get polaris parts quite cheap there.{)
