Default 700 SPORTSMAN VALVE ADJUSTMENT?

I thought since they have hydraulic valve lifters they didn't need to be adjusted.

I thought the valve had to adjusted I didn't know it was hydraulic lift. I figured it was proably time since I had never done it. Does all the 700 have a ticking noise on the top end?

Default 700 SPORTSMAN VALVE ADJUSTMENT?

Speaking of valve adjustments, anyone know a good place online to get Polaris Factory Service Manuals. I'm picking up my new Sportsman 700 EFI, 2005, today. Would like a Service Manual.

When I asked the mechanic at my dealer he just looked at me sort of funny and said they didn't need to be adjusted. I took him with a grain of salt, though, because he didn't know about the carb update I have heard about.

Well I didn't know they were hydraulic lift but now I do and I know you do adjust them. BUT when I called my dealer and asked about 6 months after I bought it they told me to bring it in and they would adjust the valves for a little over a $100.00. SO I guess they were trying to rip me a BIG one.

Default 700 SPORTSMAN VALVE ADJUSTMENT?

Someone has CD version of 700 EFI factory manual up on eBay with a starting bid of $40.00. More than what I paid for mine off of eBay. I got mine for $25.00. Nice thing about the CD is you can print out the manual too and put into a binder.

Just do a search for ===> 700 Efi

and you will find it.

I just took mine if the the 10 hour service, and fuel line recall. The bike wouldn't go any faster than 53 - 55 (Speedo is hard to read) and now that the service has been done, I'm seeing almost 70 MPH out of it. NOt sure if the timing was retarded until the dealer serviced it or what, but I got a coupon for the service at no charge, so I just had it done.

Also had him change the oil, and set the oil change light for 50 hours, as per Polaris specs. BUT, I think after my next change, I'm changing that light to 30 hours, just to be safe, oil is cheap, engines are expensive
