Default Got a belt slipping problem...

Ok, yesterday when I took out the scrambler for a spin. Me and a friend who owns a grizzly 660 came to this creak. Well I went first not knowing how deep it was and when i got into it water was up to the belt case but i dont think it got in the intake for the belt. After that my belt was slipping somewhat bad, I took out the drain pug and no water came out so Im guessing some water splashed in and soaked into the belt a little bit. Im going to start it up tomarrow and leave it idle without the belt plug in... Do you guys think i might just have got it wet or is it time for a new belt....

Thanks for any replies...

Keith

Mine use to do that. I had to replace the rubber seal around the clutch housing. This fixed the problem. I bought it at the dealer for $10.00. Good luck

sand blast your clutchs!
get sand paper around 280 or 320 then remove all polish on it,
i tell you it will help a lot, don't forget to clean up it after.

Scramblered,so far your the only one i hear talking about sandblasting and sanding the clutches,is this something you just though of trying or is it something you know for sure is good for the clutches?i read another post by you and it said something like, you did a few other things to the machine and sandblasted the clutches so you really dont know if thats what helped or not?im just wondering..

lol.......yeah that is kinda a problem.....also when riding in water, if you can get out every once in a while, put 'er in nuetral and rev it up for about 5-10sec, and that will dry out the clutches.

YOU MUST CUT THE SHEAVES CLUTCH TO REVOVE ALL POLISH ON IT.
then clean them well to revove all iron dust, then put clutchs
back and try it out,on a dialed-in setup, you'll have more grip
to the wheels,it is an old trick from sleds performance.
